FAQ

1. Where can I find more information about Olfactive marketing?

You can find more information in the next book: BRAND SENSE: Build Powerful Brands Through Touch, Taste, Smell, Sight, and Sound (2005) from Martin Lindstrom.

2. Is the use of smell no unfair competition?

No, smell only supports a product, image or a room with an additional dimension. It is a new dimension in the marketing mix, and, therefore it is sometimes seen as something aggressive. However, the use of beautiful women for the car industry or the text that appears on fruit boxes as “Freshly pressed” is accepted (despite of the fact that everyone knows that this cannot be sold like that). The use of fragrances in marketing gives therefore, in most cases, even a fairer product experience than text and photo.

3. If I use a fragrance appliance, does the smell hang around a long time?

This is possible if you have used the same smell a long time. You create an accumulation of substances in dust (curtains) or in places where little is being cleaned. In an accumulation of particles, the smell hangs around longer.

4. Can I use different fragrances in the same space?

Yes, but sparingly. You can compare fragrances with music. If it is too hard it is experienced as unpleasant. If you mix different songs, you must also see that they are linked to each other. If you mix too many fragrances or use too many fragrances after each other, they become annoying. We recommend that you create fragrance islands by using dispensers with a smaller spread area. If you have several rooms, you can use more fragrances.

5. Can fragrances stimulate allergies?

No, all our fragrances are in accordance with the rules of IFRA regulations. In addition, there is scientific proof that allergies cannot arise by smell. Asthma patients can experience a (non-allergic) stimulation from fragrances. However, they can also be provoked by air, fog or red flowers.

6. Are fragrances bad for asthma patients?

Yes and no; asthmatics are commonly affected by the dry dust particles in the air. Our intensity switch on our equipment ensures that disruption almost never occurs.

7. What about Health & environment?

The professional fragrances provided by Scents meet the guidelines of the International Fragrance Association (IFRA). The way we spread fragrances disseminates strongly with the procedures used in consumer products as these are put in the air incineration (or other forced way), but as a result of airflow along the fragrances, spread by means of a safe aerosol technology or heating up the fragrance to a maximum of 55 degrees Celsius. As a result, no hazardous substances are released with the fragrances of Scents. Substances reported by The BEUC, including benzene, are mentioned on the banned IFRA list and therefore, they do not occur in our products.

8. Warranty & Service?

Scents gives to her fragrance appliances a standard Limited Warranty of 12 months.
If a customer closes a leasing contract with Scents for the appliances in its range, there is an unlimited guarantee on these appliances. This means that Scents will see at all times that the system works, and that your costs are never different than the cost of the contract and the used fragrances. This guarantee is only applicable when a leasing agreement is closed, and the due payment is not exceeded. Excluded from guarantee are failures that are caused by external influences such as over time maintenances, fall of the system, leakage or pouring liquid substances in the system and other intentional causes which have nothing to do with the quality or operation of the system itself.
